Boston Brilliance!

A grand, new festival is coming to the small town of Boston. Lights, colour, artwork and so much more!

8 iconic landmarks will be illuminated with breathtaking colour projections and light displays, to celebrate the town’s unique history and heritage. The festival is free for all, on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February 2025, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.

The landmarks chosen include:

-Cammacks

-Waterstones

-Pescod Hall

-St Botolph’s Church (Boston Stump)

-St Botolph’s Bridge

-The Assembly Rooms

-Sam Newson Centre (Boston College’s Music and Performing Arts Building)

-Fydell House

Boston Brilliance is being made possible because Boston College received £100,000 grant from Arts Council’s National Lottery Project Grants. Contributions have also been made by the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnerships (SELCP) through the Art Council England National Portfolio Organisation project, and local businesses.

This project is a collaboration between the SELCP and the Projection Studio. Projection Studio is a company which provides light and sound projects for large events, such as the Queen’s Jubilee, the FIFA world cup and the London Olympics. Their founding director, Ross Ashton, has been designated the role of the artistic director for this event.

Claire Foster, Boston College’s Principal and CEO, said “This event will breathe new life into our town’s incredible architecture, lighting up our heritage assets, providing vital work placements for our learners and bringing pride to our place.”

Boston Borough Council’s representative on the NPO Culture Board, councillor Sarah Sharpe said, “It’s so exciting to see that such prestigious artists are contributing to this fantastic project, that will light up Boston with a stunning array of colours and arts in celebration of the rich history of the town.”

We will be following this story with more articles during the build-up to the event. Stay tuned for more!
